Civil Engineering Services

Site evaluation, grading and drainage, stormwater, utilities and subdivision infrastructure for projects throughout California and Nevada.

Civil engineering that gets the site approved

Developing property, whether a single home or an entire subdivision, requires civil engineering matched to the terrain, the soil, the drainage regime and the agency reviewing the plans. A site plan that works on paper still fails if it does not satisfy the local grading ordinance, the stormwater program or the utility purveyor.

We provide civil engineering for homeowners, builders, developers and architects across California and Nevada, and we manage the agency review process from first submittal through approval.

Civil engineering for single-family homes

Building or substantially renovating a home requires precise civil work tailored to the specific lot. Our residential civil scope covers:

Site evaluation and planning

Analysis of soils, slopes, existing drainage and site constraints to inform an effective and permittable design.

Grading and drainage design

Plans for water management, erosion control, pad elevations and foundation protection.

Utility connections

Planning and coordination of water, sewer, storm, gas and power connections with each purveyor.

Stormwater management

Site-specific low impact development and detention solutions that meet local environmental standards.

Erosion control

Best management practices and sediment control measures to protect the site during construction.

Permitting assistance

Guiding the project through the residential grading and encroachment permit process.

Civil engineering for subdivisions and larger development

Subdivision work requires infrastructure design that functions as a community system rather than a set of individual lots. Our development scope covers:

Master planning support

Collaboration on site layout, lot yield, circulation, access and land utilization.

Infrastructure design

Roadways, water, sewer and storm drain systems for the full development.

Grading plans

Rough and precise grading for the subdivision as a whole and for individual lots.

Stormwater systems

Integrated detention, treatment and conveyance designed for the entire community.

Utility infrastructure

Dry and wet utility layouts, easements and coordination with each serving agency.

Erosion and sediment control

Construction-phase controls and permit documentation for larger disturbed areas.

Subdivision mapping and lot splits

Stormwater and regulatory compliance

Civil Engineering FAQ

Existing and proposed contours, pad and finish floor elevations, cut and fill quantities, drainage patterns, storm drain and area drain layout, erosion control measures and the details and notes the reviewing agency requires.

Yes. We prepare water quality management plans, stormwater control plans and erosion and sediment control plans to the format the local agency requires, and coordinate with the plan checker through approval.

Yes. We support tentative and final map preparation, parcel maps and lot line adjustments, working with a licensed land surveyor for boundary and topographic survey where required.

For most grading and mapping work, yes. We can work from an owner-provided survey or arrange one through a licensed surveyor and include it as a separate line item in the proposal.

Yes. We respond to RFIs, review contractor submittals, prepare revisions to approved plans and support agency inspection and closeout.

California and Nevada.

We serve every California jurisdiction, the Las Vegas and Reno metropolitan areas in Nevada. Each project is delivered under the responsible charge of an engineer of record licensed in the state where the project is located.
